Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information ClayInsights (“we”, “us”) holds, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to the ClayInsights website at clayinsights.co.uk. We are the data controller for the information described here.

1. Information we hold

Depending on how you use the site, we may hold:

• Account details — the username, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash) you provide when registering.
• Shooter information — classifications, scores, event results and related performance figures obtained nightly from publicly available sources. Where you link your account to a shooter profile, this information is associated with your account so we can show your personalised performance views.
• Content you submit — reviews, ratings, watchlists, feedback and messages you send us.
• Technical data — basic log information and analytics about how the site is used (see our Cookie Policy).

2. How we use it

• To create and operate your account and provide the features you use.
• To present classifications, ground form and performance analytics.
• To send service messages such as account verification, password resets and replies to enquiries.
• To understand and improve how the site is used, and to keep it secure.

3. Lawful basis

We process your account and content data to perform the service you have asked us to provide and on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and improving ClayInsights. Performance information drawn from public sources is processed on the basis of legitimate interest. Where required, we rely on your consent — for example for non-essential analytics cookies — which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run ClayInsights — for example our hosting provider and our transactional email provider — and where we are required to by law.

5. Retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account we will delete or anonymise your personal information unless we need to retain some of it to meet a legal obligation.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the Contact Us page. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
